Texas, as it turns out, just may be one of the best states in the nation to grow pot.

AUSTIN -- A small town in North Texas could see Texas' first full-scale medical cannabis business.

A new law legalizes cannabis oil to help some Texans who have intractable epilepsy. If plans move forward, cannabis oil could be available for some epileptic Texans by late 2017.

The Texas Tegna Poll indicates 71 percent of the state’s voters would support expanding medical marijuana treatments for patients suffering other health problems. Another 19 percent oppose the idea, while 11 percent aren’t sure.
