Thailand approved marijuana for medical use and research on Tuesday, the first legalization of the drug in a region with some of the world’s strictest drug laws.

Ireland's Health Minister has said he hopes to roll out a new law around legalising cannabis for medicinal use in 2019.

Vote will coincide with 2020 general election; it follows legalisation of drug’s use for medicinal purposes.

Around the world attitudes towards the use of cannabis are shifting.

“Nobody expected it to be so soon, and moreso, nobody expected it to be Luxembourg.”

Big companies are making inroads into a potentially lucrative market, but legislators aren’t moving at the same speed.
