N.H. gubernatorial candidate argues for marijuana legalization as a revenue generator – Cannabis News
Unlike many of the other candidates running for governor, Democrat Steve Marchand isn’t afraid of saying he wants to expand the state budget, rather than shrink it.
The former Portsmouth mayor has a number of large initiatives he wants to achieve if elected governor, including re-instituting the state’s school building aid program, mandating full-day kindergarten, expanding treatment for heroin and opioids and rebuilding New Hampshire’s aging roads and bridges.
“I’m the only candidate that’s willing to say we need more revenue,” Marchand said. “That’s as high priority as anything I’m doing.”
All those initiatives support Marchand’s overall campaign goal to make New Hampshire “the best place in America to start a family and a business,” as he puts it.
