She has also stated that states should be allowed to make their own policies regarding cannabis. In 2014, Clinton said, “On recreational, you know, states are the laboratories of democracy. We have at least two states that are experimenting with that right now. I want to wait and see what the evidence is.” When asked in October 2015 if enough time had passed in Colorado and Washington to make a more definitive conclusion on adult-use cannabis, she said “No.”
