Vermont House declines to delay marijuana vote amid federal uncertainty - Cannabis News

The Vermont House of Representatives has rejected two attempts to slow marijuana legalization, first by refusing to delay a vote and then by rejecting an amendment that would have delayed legalization to July 2019.

The legalization proposal would allow adults over 21 to possess small amounts of marijuana and grow their own plants beginning in July.

Vermont House members first rejected a Republican-led effort to delay the vote until Gov. Phil Scott's Marijuana Advisory Commission issues its next report on Jan. 15 about preventing youth drug use, detecting impaired drivers and other issues.
