NJ's First 4 Cannabis Lounges Now Open!

Atlantic City has long been known for its glittering casinos, iconic boardwalk, and beachfront fun. Now, it's adding something entirely new to its list of attractions: cannabis lounges.

In a historic move for New Jersey, the state's Cannabis Regulatory Commission recently approved the operation of four cannabis consumption lounges. Two of these cannabis lounges are located right in the heart of Atlantic City—SunnyTien and High Rollers—with others opening in Newark and Merchantville.

These lounges are more than just a place to smoke. They're designed as community hubs where adults 21 and over can legally and safely consume cannabis in a social setting. For just $5, visitors can gain 30-minute access, or opt for an annual pass at $1,200. The lounges are strictly alcohol-free, with bars instead stocked with glass water pipes, grinders, and high-end vaporizers.

"We've got TVs, music, karaoke nights, trivia, Mario Kart—it's not just about cannabis, it's about creating an experience," said Spencer Belz, Chief Operating Officer of SunnyTien Dispensary and Lounge on Atlantic Avenue. With stylish décor, plush seating, and the unmistakable scent of cannabis in the air, these cannabis lounges offer a vibe unlike any other entertainment venue in town.
