Cannabis Bust at Parika Façade Chicken Farm!
Law enforcement authorities recently uncovered a surprising stash of cannabis during a targeted search operation at a location identified as a Chicken Farm in Parika Facade, East Bank Demerara. The raid, conducted by Anti-Crime patrol ranks from Regional Police Division #3, highlights the continued vigilance of police in tackling illegal activities hidden in unexpected places.
According to official reports, the exercise took place on Friday between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at an unattended Chicken Farm Initially, the patrol team conducted detailed searches around the chicken coop and inside a storage room on the property. At first, nothing illegal was discovered. However, persistence paid off when officers noticed a narrow track running alongside a drain near the Chicken Farm, measuring about seven feet in width.
Following the track for approximately fifteen minutes, ranks came upon a galvanized sheet that appeared to be concealing something. On closer inspection, they discovered a grey tarpaulin underneath, covering a green salt bag. Inside the bag were three bulky parcels of suspected cannabis, weighing a total of 684.8 grams.
The find at the Chicken Farm underscores how criminal elements may attempt to exploit rural or unattended properties for illegal activities. Farms and agricultural spaces are often perceived as quiet, low-profile areas, which can make them attractive hiding spots for illicit drugs. In this case, the Chicken Farm provided a cover that might have otherwise gone unnoticed if not for the thorough cordon-and-search operation carried out by the police.
