Burlington, Vermont police report: Vehicle searches plummet after marijuana legalization - Cannabis News

There are a few notable observations about the ways in which marijuana legalization have affected traffic enforcement: Searches were "rare" following changes to marijuana laws in the state.

From July 2018 to the present, there was a decrease in searches "based on suspicions of unlawful activity."

Only 19 cars were searched in this time period — less than a third of the count from a year prior.
