Troy Smith brought a Heisman Trophy to Ohio, and a little over a decade later, he is hoping to bring the state medical marijuana, too.

The former Ohio State star quarterback, along with former Browns player Eric Metcalf and high school football coach Ted Ginn Sr., are trying to bring a weed dispensary to the Cleveland area in Ohio, Columbus Business First is reporting.

The trio attended a state hearing on Tuesday. Ohio will select 24 applications out of 185 to cultivate medical marijuana.

Smith, the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner who was a fifth-round pick of the Ravens, told Columbus Business First that head trauma he suffered while playing football is one reason he’s involved in marijuana dispensaries.
