Is it time for the NFL to legalize marijuana? – Marijuana News

Reports of NFL players trying to get the same effects of marijuana without actually smoking it has observers wondering if the league should relax on their drug policy a bit.

In the last five to six years, research has shown that marijuana can help players recover from concussions and trauma as a result of playing the game.

The results have been "quite illuminating," Doug Farrar of Sports Illustrated told Seattle's Morning News.

Farrar points out there have been a handful of incidents involving players using synthetic marijuana. That includes Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones, who was admitted to a hospital after walking to a police station and complaining of "ill effects."
