WeedElect.com, The WeedLife Network’s website devoted to ‘The Politics of Cannabis,’ debuts its WeedElect mobile app

The app is expected to be a prime resource for people interested in the politics of cannabis in the United States during a crucial election year.

Denver (January 8, 2016) –  People looking to keep up on political news related to the nation’s marijuana legalization movement now have a social app that puts essential information instantly at their fingertips, with timely news articles and data.

The WeedLife Network, with its more than 40 websites devoted to legal cannabis organizations, businesses and consumers, has just unveiled its revolutionary and highly intuitive WeedElect mobile app.

The app accesses information from the network’s WeedElect.com website and covers cannabis-related news regarding the 2016 election cycle. It also keeps its users up-to-date on the presidential candidates, proposed congressional amendments and state measures that all have the potential to dramatically affect marijuana laws across much of the United States this year.

“We are excited to release this app for many obvious reasons, but we’re especially proud of its user versatility,” says Andy Rodosevich, CFO and co-founder of The WeedLife Network, “We expect it to become an important tool for anyone concerned about the specific politicians, ballots and political events that could radically change the landscape of the legal cannabis industry over the next several months.”

The app features several unique and informational functions, including:

  • A report card from a variety of news organizations and marijuana advocacy groups, examining each presidential candidate’s position on the legal cannabis industry.
  • My Favorites. A section that lets app users collect articles about political candidates and cannabis issues so they can create a news pin-board that will help them form their own personal voting opinions for the 2016 election, based on their favorite’s timeline of news.
  • State-by-state news categories with information on cannabis-related issues in targeted cities, counties and states.
  • A National Issues and Latest News category, to help voters remain updated on specific marijuana-related measures in Congress.
  • Customized news alerts, set up by the app user, which push notifications to them once any cannabis-related political news articles are published.

“We believe this app will help elevate the understanding of politically-active users,” says Shawn Tapp, the CEO and co-founder of The WeedLife Network and a 20-year veteran of digital marketing.

“I’ve been very involved in political issues and candidate fundraising for the past 25 years and I finally have found myself in a position – and with a company – where we can do some real justice for voters,” he adds.

“It feels like everyone is just bracing for the mudslinging that has unfortunately has become common practice in these election cycles,” Tapp continues. “So when voters find themselves bombarded by negative ads that paint a cloudy picture of candidates and cannabis issues, we hope they’ll take out their mobile phones to access our WeedElect app as a healthy, productive and positive political alternative.”
