Legal planting of cannabis made possible in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture has made a statement that Bulgarian farmers will be able to legally grow industrial grade cannabis, after filing the proper papers towards the Ministry.

The documents needed to receive permission for the growth of cannabis are an application to the Ministry of Agriculture, a certificate of the quality of the planted material, and laboratory analyses which prove that the THC concentration in the plant is less than 0.2%.

The permission is granted for a certain piece of land, where the sort planted has to be one of a previously approved list.

Industrial grade cannabis doesn’t have the needed THC concentration to be considered a drug, but it can be used to extract fibres, collect seeds for further planting and making food for domesticated animals.
