Alex Renton sparked a national debate about medicinal cannabis while in a coma, his sister has told the teen's memorial service.

The Nelson 19-year-old died on July 1 after being in hospital for three months, sedated with a range of drugs to stop him having seizures. His treatment included groundbreaking use of medicinal cannabis.
