Evers signs Cannabis for Mississippi petition

JACKSON, Miss. —A big name in the civil rights movement is giving his support to the Mississippi marijuana movement.

Charles Evers, the brother of Medgar Evers, signed the Cannabis for Mississippi's pot petition this week.

The group is trying to get an initiative on the 2016 ballot. If the measure is approved by voters, supporters will ask the state to regulate marijuana like it does alcohol.
